Even though you may be handing over a few large bills to take home your new pet, you’re likely saving money. Shelters and rescue groups typically cover initial veterinary costs, which may be high for an animal in poor health. They also pay for the animals’ food, transportation and other expenses. Our rehoming fee is £95 for cats , £125 for kittens or £170 for a pair of cats and £225 for a pair of kittens. Kenzie needs all the attention he can get from the people he loves. He can get anxious about new people and dogs, so needs an owner with experience to continue his training and would also prefer somewhere where his family can take him on quiet walks. This energetic pup is ready to take on the world and loves sharing his excitement for life. He will need some training as he can forget to be on his best behaviour when he meets people and other dogs but in return he will bring you joy and positivity.

Peanut is a beautiful 5 year old, 11 pound chocolate Chi that was abandoned in a home with his big furry brother. Violet is a sweet and petite, 9 year Chihuahua mix weighing lbs. He is 8 months old, 40 lbs neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. I have been told that my human Momma loved me a lot enough to protect me by surrendering me to a wonderful rescue. "I couldn't allow grief to stop my family from getting Elf home for the holidays," Maharaj said. Elf was in and out of foster homes for more than a year.
It is one of the UK's oldest and best known animal rescue centres. It was established in Holloway, London, in 1860 and moved to Battersea in 1871. This beautiful, golden fluffball sadly had a really tough start to life and so is lacking in confidence. She needs a loving family who can help her gradually build this up as well as giving her all her training. She hasn't seen much positivity in the world yet, but some solid owners can change that for her. The lovely Lad didn't arrive at the centre in the best way.

He's happy to live just about anywhere but can't live with other dogs or cats. His nature towards humans and other dogs is friendly. Hooch might look a bit disgruntled, or even cheeky, in this photo, but we assure you the main cares he has in the world are running and food! Even though he loves playing, he loves eating even more and needs owners who will help him lose a bit of weight.
However, his training is going very well and he has shown good social skills with other dogs. Buster needs a family with all the love to give and more. He has been quite scared of handling in the past so will need ongoing training to help him settle in. Once he's used to his new home and family, he will have so much affection to give. The best way to help the Salem 16 is through fostering, adoption and donations.

During the programme Mr O'Grady meets members of staff at the home and follow the progress of each dog. King Charles, 73, also seems very found of the pooches as they featured in the couple's 15th wedding anniversary portrait in 2020. The robust and resilient dog is extremely intelligent and willing to work. The herding dog is very attentive, highly intelligent and bright.
Battersea was established in Holloway in 1860 by Mary Tealby (1801–1865). She called it "The Temporary Home for Lost and Starving Dogs". Initially the home was in her scullery but as the number of dogs delivered to her grew she hired some nearby stables funded by herself, her brother and Sarah Major. In 1860 the RSPCA agreed to assist and the committee meetings were held at the RSPCA offices at 12 Pall Mall.
This doggo loves humans and other dogs alike, and could definitely live with a poochy companion of a similar size. He's very sweet but a little lacking in confidence so needs a new family who will help him gradually build this up. A lover of naps, dogs and humans alike, Stevie is a very polite yet affectionate dog who enjoys going on walks, playing with toys, and spending one-on-one time with humans. He's not been in a home environment before and has a chase drive when it comes to wildlife that owners will need to manage. George is an absolute sweetie who's looking for a caring home to spend his latter years in. He would rather be at home with someone most of the time.
While he needs to be the only dog in the house, he enjoys meeting other dogs while out and about. This gorgeous pooch is an Akita cross with a Newfoundland. He is fun-loving and couldn't choose between play and food if he had to - he absolutely loves both! Theo is looking for a family who are outdoors-y and who are around most of the time as he struggles with being alone right now.
“We were the only ones able to offer a facility that we could safely quarantine these dogs,” said Emily DiSienna, a volunteer for Lucky Puppy Rescue, who helped organize the rescue. Three other dogs were found dead inside the Salem home. Rescuers say an estranged family member called for help after witnessing years of neglect.

After all, it is a living thing that wants to be treated on a daily basis. In addition, the decision must also take into account the cost factor arising from purchase, feed, vet, dog school and accessories. In 1885, Queen Victoria became patron of the home, and it has remained under royal patronage ever since. The Queen Consort is the current patron, and Prince Michael of Kent is the President.
